If you are looking for a fun and cozy wine and whiskey bar in South Puget Sound, you will want to visit the Browne Family Vineyards tasting room. The tasting room is in the charming Proctor District in Tacoma’s north end, next to Cactus Restaurant and close to the Metropolitan Market. Don’t you love this chic bar with the mural wall? It is stunning.
I can’t wait to come back when the weather cools off so that I can enjoy a wine or whiskey flight in front of this cozy fireplace. I love the mix of plush seating with the smaller round-top tables and long tables. Along with the patio and the bar seating, there is something for everyone.
We both loved our Whiskey tastings. I chose the Welcome to Whiskey Flight which included two seasonal options from the Lab series collection. I can’t decide which one I like better, the Warm Spice or the Vanilla Bean. Both are perfect options for Fall. The Vanilla Bean had strong notes of vanilla and a subtle sweetness, and the Warm Spice had inviting aromas of cinnamon and baking spices, and the flavors were similar. I enjoyed the slightly sweet, oak finish. We are really looking forward to experimenting with cocktail recipes with these and appreciate the reasonable price point for these limited-edition bourbons. They are really smooth, sippable on their own and delightful!
We didn’t taste the wine today, but we have enjoyed wines at Browne many times in the past. Browne offers exceptional wine club options.
