When we stay in Chelan, we are very close to Manson. There are a ton of wineries to visit, and also quite a few places to eat. On your way up toward the wineries, you will see a giant sign that says “BBQ in the Vineyard”. We drove past it many times, and finally, we caved and decided to try it out.
This event is held in Lake Chelan Winery’s vineyard. You can taste their wine and eat scrumptious food on a warm summer evening. Keep in mind that the BBQ in the Vineyard is only open in the spring and summer. In addition, there is live music or other entertainment almost every night!
We arrived around 7 pm and the place was packed. We were still able to find a bench in the vineyard and get our food fast! To pass the time we did indulge in a bottle of 2019 Stormy Mountain Red 2 LCW and a glass of 2020 Riesling.
Unfortunately, there are not a lot of vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free options. It is a barbeque place after all. I did manage to find a few gluten-free items such as the Cajun Prawn Skewers and coleslaw!
If you do not have any dietary restrictions, there are quite a few perks. Unlimited cornbread was offered and a whole array of delicious smoked and grilled meats. Plus, there are large family meal options with plenty of sides such as macaroni and cheese and baked beans.
My husband decided to get the Baby Back Pork Ribs which he declared was, “bone-lickin’ good.”
Our food was yummy, the wine was amazing, and the live music was phenomenal.
Most of all, the atmosphere was fun and relaxing. BBQ in the Vineyard was a great way to end a day of wine tasting on a summer weekend.
