The Washington State Wine media event hosted by Chateau Ste Michelle and sponsored by Wine Spectator was a very fun event this year. We were thrilled to attend and to have the chance to catch up with so many Washington Stae winemakers.
If you have a wine tasting planned at Chateau Ste Michelle, we advise arriving there early to allow time to take in the stunning grounds. This winery is a iconic Woodinville winery destination. I always notice something new when I am there, and this time of year it was a lovely surprise to view the rose garden.
The hot July temperature made things extra uncomfortable on the hot and dry lawn but looking at the smiles on the faces of the Goose Ridge Winery team, you would not ever guess that we were sweating and thirsty in 95-degree blazing sunshine.
Here, Mike from Three of Cups Winery poured us some of their 2021 Cinsaut Rose. This naturally fermented rose is sourced from three vineyards in Washington and Oregon and scored 93 points in 2022 Washington Tasting Room Magazine.
Lacey from Cairdeas Winery, located in Manson, WA. Cairdeas wines are highly coveted, and their incredible tasting room is one of our favorite stops when we visit Chelan, WA.
This was such a wonderful opportunity for us to visit with winemakers and their staff. We had not talked to or seen so many of them in such a long time. We stopped and chatted with the crew at Elevation Cellars and sampled their Sauvignon Blanc.
I was thrilled to see Kit Singh, owner/winemaker of Lauren Ashton Cellars. LAC is one of my favorite places to go in Woodinville for live music and wine/food events. The atmosphere is always so lovely there!
I chatted with these lovely ladies from Ambassador Wines about their newest tasting room located in Woodin Creek Village. This tasting room has such a charming appeal, as it sits along Wine Alley. We love their red wines, but it was so hot out on this afternoon, we were thrilled to see they had their Sauvignon Blanc chilled for us to try.
Pearl and Stone Winery has been on my radar for a while, and it was exciting to meet part of the team. Their tasting room is open (at the time this article was published) Thursday through Sunday for tastings and is located on main street in North Bend, WA.
This event at Chateau Ste Michelle was exciting for us, as it was sponsored by Wine Spectator and we love to see Washington wineries being recognized. Although we all wished there had been more shade provided at the venue, it was still an afternoon filled with laughter and appreciation for all the demanding work that these amazing winemakers put in to bring us our favorite wines.
Cheers!
