Mariah eating lunch at The Commons, Woodinville

My friend Mariah and I had been trying to schedule an afternoon Woodinville wine tasting almost the entire summer and a few weeks back, we finally met up! I met Mariah while sitting outside on the lovely lawn at Alexandria Nicole Cellars in the Hollywood District of Woodinville wine country. She was a new friendly face at the tasting room and we immediately hit it off. We were both excited to meet for the afternoon and enjoy some relaxing downtime.

To start the afternoon off, we met at The Commons for lunch. Carrie, Kaiti and I love this restaurant and have all been here many times. There are always new additions to the menu and fresh changes within the restaurant that I enjoy checking out. The food and service is incredibly consistent and I love the vibe. You are literally right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Woodinville’s wine district, so if you enjoy people watching, here you will have options galore!

Mariah ordered this fried chicken sandwich, which looked delicious (although definitelary messy and maybe difficult to eat?), and I ordered the chicken club salad.

I almost always order this salad (or something similar) when I order food at The Commons. It’s not for diet purposes by any means, since I also almost always pair it with me of their insanely delicious boozy milkshakes. I just really think they make a tasty salad! Since Mariah and I were going wine tasting at a few other Hollywood District tasting rooms, we decided to stick with iced tea over lunch.

There are some big changes inside The Commons since I had been there last. Check out this wine and gift wall! There is also additional outdoor seating that has been added. Good to remember as we enjoy what I hope will be a long and warm Autumn!

Wine tasting at Columbia Winery, Woodinville

I had not been wine tasting at Columbia Winery in so long, and Mariah had not visited yet, and we decided that would be our first stop. I really loved the 2020 Rosé, and the Syrah. This a gorgeous winery to visit, and the patio is lovely.

Wine tasting lineup at Pepper Bridge Amavi, Woodinville

Our next stop was Pepper Bridge/ Amavi Cellars where we talked to Lindsey about the renovations planned at both the Walla Walla and Woodinville tasting rooms. I will be back to see the newly updated space in a few weeks and share it with you all!

Amavi’s Semillon is one of my favorites, so of course, I bought a bottle of the 2020 vintage to bring home. I love the honeysuckle and white peach and flavors of honeydew melon and papaya. The Les Collines Syrah was also delicious, with notes of pepper and cocoa and flavors of cured meat, blueberries, and plum.

Mariah loved the 2018 Pepper Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merlot and Trine red blend were delicious as well.

Amavi Cellars / Pepper Bridge Winery’s Woodinville location is located in the Northeast corner of the Hollywood Schoolhouse lot, at 14810 NE 145th Street, building A-3, Woodinville, WA 98072. This location is centrally located and close to everything so please be aware that things can get extremely busy. Walk-ins are welcome, however, to guarantee your best experience, we highly suggest making a reservation. You can do so by clicking here!

There are so many amazing wine tasting and restaurant options in Woodinville’s Hollywood District, and these are definitely a few that you should add to your list when you visit Woodinville! Check out our other posts for more on other restaurants and wine tasting experiences in the same area here and here.

Let us know where you decide to visit the next time you come to explore Woodinville!
