Open That Bottle Night 2021

Tomorrow (Saturday, February 27) is Open That Bottle Night. It’s a celebratory night held at the end of winter, while we eagerly anticipate Spring. It’s meant to encourage us to treat ourselves to opening a VERY special bottle of wine we’ve been saving in our home wine cellars, wine cabinets and wine stashes.

With all we’ve been going through in the last eleven months, I think this is an extra special Open That Bottle Night, and we should treat ourselves to a special evening and really bust out that cherished bottle we’ve all been saving for a special occasion (perhaps a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a child or grandchild’s birth, a job promotion, retirement or a wedding?)

Descendant Cellars Mourvedre
Tempted to open my 2013 Descendant Cellars Mourvedre tomorrow!

Let’s order a special celebratory take-out meal from our favorite local Woodinville restaurants, chefs and caterers, and pair it with our treasured bottles we will finally acquiesce to opening tonight.

Post your open-bottle-next-to-full-wine-glass shots on your social media, and perhaps share your Washington wine-themed Open That Bottle Night photo to our Woodinville Wine Chat Facebook group if you like.

Our local wineries are really struggling right now. If you can shop local soon to replace that special bottle you opened, you will be treating your future self as well as helping one of our wineries stay afloat with another purchase of fabulous Washington wine.

Cheers and enjoy your Open That Bottle Night celebrations! (For myself, I’m deciding between a 2009 red wine from the now-closed (and greatly missed) Davenport Cellars tasting room; a 2013 Descendant Cellars Mourvedre or a 2015 Paisan from Cascade Cliffs!
