Tired of cooking so many meals at home? I am! Miss your favorite Woodinville restaurant? I do too! Let’s take a look at all the options for supporting our local restaurants, while indulging in their delicious dishes in the comfort of our own homes.
I don’t personally enjoy making phone calls, so I’m grateful that many of our local restaurants have done a fantastic job of ramping up and offering easy-to-use online ordering systems (especially the Heavy Restaurant Group folks, with their spiffy Heavy at Home website).
Barking Frog Mobile Kitchen – Open June 1st
Bistro at Hollywood Schoolhouse – Open for takeout. (Note that their online menu is incredibly small and difficult to read – check their Facebook page instead, which seems to be updated weekly with their menu and specials).
Caliente Kitchen & Bar – Online ordering for Mexican food via ChowNow. They offer a lot of lunch specials, including my favorite (Huevos Rancheros), not many vegetarian options, cocktails to go, sides and appetizers, burritos and tacos, and a good selection of salads.
Chan’s Place – Open for Takeout. We love their vegetarian Spring rolls; their Vegetable Egg Fu Yung and their shrimp fried rice especially.
Chef Anne Marie – Online Ordering for pre-order meals and sides. You put in your order Monday before 9 pm for pick-up Tuesday between 3-5 pm; or Wednesday before 9 pm for pick-up Thursday between 3-5 pm. All orders received after 9 pm on Thursday will be considered a pre-order available for pick-up the following Tuesday between 3-5 pm). She changes her menus weekly. We’ve found her prices for entrees and sides to be incredibly reasonable, and we’ve enjoyed ordering her family style meals for around $45 (we share them with next door neighbors). From next week’s menu, we’re tempted by the meatball sub and Calico Beans with Beef & Bacon side (for Bob), the creamy mac and cheese (for me), and we’re eyeing the potato salad as well.
The Commons – Easy online ordering via the fantastic Heavy at Home website, for pickup or delivery. You can order Brunch for Two, cocktails, Breakfast All Day, soup and salad, sandwiches and burgers, kids meals, plus desserts and milkshakes. The website is super easy to order from and make a few substitutions as needed. You can also order cocktail kits!
Heritage Restaurant | Bar offers Heritage at Home, where you can order lunch for pickup Wednesday – Saturday from 11 am -3 pm, and you can order brunch for pickup on Sunday between 11 am and 3 pm). Call 425-419-4760 or order online via ChowNow. I’ve so missed their roasted beet & burrata salad; and I bet next weekend I’ll be ordering Biscuits & Gravy for brunch for Bob and Eggs Benedict for brunch for myself!
The Hollywood Tavern is one of the restaurants we miss the most! They offer a drive-in menu – call ahead (425-481-7703) or order online via ChowNow. I’m most tempted by their Beechers Mac and Cheese, Cajun Tots and fried pickles. I’d have to pick up a cocktail to go (they also offer beer and wine to go).
Hopheads Taproom offers a pickup menu for their Eats – tacos, a Nachos kit, a Bavarian pretzel that’s calling my name, salads and sandwiches. Plus, of course, beer and Damsel Cellars wine on tap.
Italianissimo offers a takeout menu; call them to order at 425-485-6888. It’s a simple Italian menu of a few salads, two sides (one of them a Patate Fritte, yum!), five pizza choices, several rice (risotto) and pasta dishes, plus meat and chicken entrees.
Pasta Nova Italiano – Call ahead (425-483-3716) to order for pickup between 4 pm and 8 pm. They offer a smoked salmon carpaccio; a strawberry arugula salad that’s quite good; several chicken, beef and veal dishes; seafood pastas; and a few vegetarian items.
The PicNic Table – Open for online ordering for pickup Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can order nibbles (smoked salmon deviled eggs, nuts, and olives); meat plates and cheese plates; a pork terrine; and Mediterranean items on a menu that changes weekly (tacos, sandwiches, salads and meat entrees).
The Pizza Coop has online ordering for pickup via ChowNow. You can buy a take home pizza kit, sandwiches, starters (including very tempting Mac and Cheese Bites), an amazing variety of salads, and a crazy amount of different pizzas. (Crazy in a good way). Like almost everyone in Woodinville now, they let you order beer, wine and cocktails for pickup.
Plaza Santa Fe Grill offers Mexican food for easy online ordering/pickup. You can order margaritas to go, too. Options include family taco meals, salads and appetizers, fajitas, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and an extensive vegetarian menu.
Purple Cafe Woodinville – Another restaurant from Heavy at Home that is super easy to order pickup from. You can order a Wine Country Experience; fan favorites like their Purple Chopped Salad, Chicken Marsala and legendary Lobster Mac; vegetarians can order the Impossible Burger or delicious pesto pasta salad; and there’s a kid’s menu. You can also order beer and wine specials for takeout.
20 Corners Brewing now offers Brunch for pickup, on Saturdays and Sundays! They offer a cinnamon roll, hashes, and brunch drinks to go; plus their regular menu of tasty bites, green salads, flatbreads and folds.
Village Wines – Easy online ordering for pickup. They’ll also deliver within a 10 mile radius (you must purchase food if making an alcohol order for delivery). There’s an extensive kids’ meal section; flatbread pizzas; a huge selection of tapas (I suggest the Village Dip Platter); comfort food like mac and cheese; tacos and sandwiches; a vegan burger; and several really good salads. I probably won’t try to order a hot fudge sundae or gelato for delivery, but I’m eyeing the chocolate mousse cake for dessert.
Vivi Pizzeria – Open for takeout, curbside pickup, or delivery (via UberEats, GrubHub etc). No online ordering; instead phone 425-408-0711 to place your order. Besides their incredibly good wood-fired pizzas, they sell a variety of pastas and salads. (My favorite pizza is the Pear Gorgonzola “Pere” pizza, and my favorite salad is the Insalata Avocado.)
Wheelhouse – Closed for now.
Woodinville Cut Shop – Takeout orders (call 425-408-1173) or order their famous fried pickles and pimento cheese dip via delivery services. I highly recommend their Fettucine Alfredo and my boyfriend enjoys their Prime Dip.
Zeeks Pizza Woodinville offers online ordering for takeout or delivery. This is a locally owned franchise. Besides pizza, you can order salads, breadsticks, beer and wine, cider, spirits and seltzer.
