It took me several DeLille Cellars date nights to finally get my order placed before they sold out! It is no surprise, since they partnered with A Platinum Event Catering, known for their incredible food. It was the Rosé edition of DeLille Cellars takeout event, so you know that James and I were both super excited. We are club members at DeLille, and we miss the winery terribly. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed the effort put into curating this food and wine pairing.
On Saturday, we drove to Woodinville in order to pick up our take-out dinner (and an extra bottle of Rosé of course) and it was super easy to swing through the drive-up wine stop. The staff was super organized and friendly as usual. We gave our last name, they checked us off the list and handed over our bags. Simple!
The dinner menu started with two easy to assemble appetizers. We organized an assorted artisan cheese and charcuterie plate (with dried figs – yum!) and marinated prawn and fennel toast with an amazing herb de province whipped goat cheese spread. Next we enjoyed a delicious seared tuna niçoise salad that was my favorite part of the meal. The main course was orecchiette pasta with grilled chicken sausage, broccoli rabe, toasted garlic and pecorino cheese. It was so good and so filling that we ended up with plenty of leftovers.
James and I loved the 2019 Rosé and I am happy I have two more bottles to enjoy later. This rosé is a blend of Grenache (47%), Mourvèdre (45%) and Cinsault. It would be perfect enjoyed outdoors in the summer on a patio or a picnic. I was impressed with the food from A Platinum Event, everything was prepared to perfection and had wonderful flavor. There was minimal prep work and no actual cooking. The hardest thing I had to do to put this fun date night together was warm pasta and put my make-up on.
A night at home with no cooking and Rose? Sign me up! We will for sure be doing this again. Possibly even this weekend, as this wine industry team is offering a Cinco de Mayo take-out date night event. For more on that, click here.
Have you tried any other Woodinville restaurants’ COVID-19 take-out options? Let us know in the comments, because we love to support our local small businesses and it’s fun to hear from our readers about what you like!
Cheers ~ Jen
