I wanted to take a quick little side trip away from blogging about wine today to let you know about our fabulous experience ordering local beer from Woodinville-based Good Brewing Co. (They didn’t ask me to write this post by the way!)
My boyfriend really, really likes beer, and since he’s too (ahem) old to be safely going to grocery stores, and I’m trying to limit my grocery store shopping trips, he’s been sad to cut back on his beer drinking lately. I was delighted to see that I can support a local small business (which happens to make fabulous IPA beer that my boyfriend loves) and still stock up on beer for our household.
Good Brewing Co.’s online website is super easy to navigate. I shopped for beer (and for two “Dave Coins,” which are wooden nickles you can use to trade in for a pint of beer when it’s finally safe to return to the tasting room in person). You can even add a gratuity right there on the website for your delivery driver.
I ordered beer (a six pack of 16 ounce cans of ODB Hazy IPA and a four-pack of their Good IPA) last night on their website with my credit card, and the beer was on my doorstep this afternoon around 1. The delivery driver rang the doorbell and then carefully stepped back eight or ten feet – just making sure I was home to receive the beer so it didn’t get stolen off my doorstep.
You can also buy a $25 or $50 gift card via the website. The brewery gets the money now and uses it to stay in business during this difficult time.
We’re looking forward to sitting with our dogs and drinking local craft beer on Good Brewing Co’s patio in Woodinville sometime soon. For now, we’ll enjoy their beer at home in our own backyard.
