I adore riding on boats, and since I don’t overindulge and I don’t succumb to seasickness, I can drink (in moderation, of course) on boats!
While I go on the Argosy Christmas Ships Festival at least twice per holiday season, I’ve never been on a Saturday wine cruise, and that needs to change immediately! (Just wanted to point out that Argosy did not ask me to write a post about their wine cruises – I am just excited to book one and want to share the info with you).
Yes, the weather will be cold, likely windy and rainy in March, but Argosy keeps their ships warm and cozy. And as a 29 year Seattle resident, I’ve long ago learned to bundle up in layers and dress for any possible weather changes.
Cruises begin March 7. Your $50 ticket gets you an hour and a half cruise, and three three-ounce pours of the featured wines. The ship has a bar where you can buy specialty cocktails plus local wine and beer, too. You can bring your kids – their tickets are $38 for ages 4 and over. Cruises depart at 12:45 and at 2:45 pm.
It’s going to be hard to choose exactly which Saturday wine cruise to go on – there are so many opportunities to taste fantastic Washington wines. Check out the schedule:
- March: Seattle Wineries
- April: Classic Washington Wines
- May: Washington Bordeaux Wines
- June*: NEW! World-Inspired Washington Wines; *June 13th is National Rosé Day (red & white available)
- July: Yakima Valley AVA
- August: NEW! Wines with a Cause
- September: Women in Wine
- October: Favorites of the Season
I’m definitely going on the Women in Wine cruise, and most likely Classic Washington Wines. Which cruises tempt you the most? Let me know in the comments below!
