The new DeLille Cellars wine tasting room at The Hollywood Station in Woodinville has been the talk of the town for months now. Jen is a DeLille Cellars club member, and we’ve enjoyed sipping wine at the Carriage House. But we’re so happy DeLille is expanding and growing!
So when Jen and I were invited to take a quick little sneak peek tour before their preview night and Grand Opening, we were beyond excited! I was praying we wouldn’t get a speeding ticket driving out there so fast to check it out.
We’d been invited to a “hard hat tour” and were really worried, vainly, about the hard hats messing up our hair. Luckily nobody really actually made us wear any hard hats, though we did have to watch carefully where we stepped outdoors, due to ladders and machinery.
The new DeLille tasting room is a three story building. There’s no elevator (that we know of) and the majestic, huge front door is sort of heavy and hard to open, but at least the restrooms are on the first floor.
DeLille is now trying a different model for your tasting experience: a seated wine tasting. You’ll lounge around with your friends, and the tasting room staff will come over to you with each new pour. Here’s Jen testing a comfy chair in front of the French style lion mural.
While they’re happy to accommodate walk-in wine tasters whenever possible, DeLille prefers you make a reservation (via their website) to be sure they have room and are staffed appropriately. That will ensure you have a wonderful experience. (Especially on weekends, which will be busy).
As you sip your wine, you can admire the fabulous murals and artwork throughout the tasting room space. Note the frequent use of cinquefoils.
We are always delighted to see cozy fireplaces and sitting areas in tasting rooms. This one is upstairs in the club members’ section.
We absolutely loved these embroidered bird-themed chairs, and hope nobody spills red wine on them!
We didn’t mind that some of the furniture wasn’t yet in place – we wanted you to enjoy this behind-the-scenes tour along with us. See how open, spacious, light and airy this tasting room is?
Here we are upstairs in the Library Room admiring years’ worth of DeLille’s wine treasures. (Sadly, we did have to put back the magnum of wine Jen was holding in this picture!)
The Library Room will eventually be rentable for events, and used for club member functions.
Such an impressive wall of wine! We had to linger a moment to worship it.
Recognize this farmhouse? The original farmhouse painting that you see on DeLille wine bottle labels hangs upstairs in the tasting room.
From a window near the offices, you can peek into the DeLille production facility and watch the wine making in progress.
In a hallway, you can investigate this wall of winemaker Jason Gorski’s winemaking notes, all nicely framed.
I’m sure many of you came to this post specifically wanting to take a peek at the famed third floor outdoor wine tasting patio… Here it is! We braved the November cold for you to check it out and get these pics for you. The all-weather furniture is comfy, I can attest, and so chic looking! I totally suspect Jen and I will be practically living up here this summer (if DeLille doesn’t kick us out!)
If you would like, you can watch the video I made on the outdoor patio the day of our tour.
Behind the tasting room registration desk is a showcase of DeLille’s varietals and a wine shop. I’m sure they’ll have to have a lot of their extremely popular D2 on hand for wine buyers!
Thank you to DeLille Cellars for the advance sneak peek you treated us to! We’re looking forward to coming back and drinking your delicious wine on that fabulous outdoor patio, and inside by the fireplace on cold days!
