Willows Lodge’s Beautiful Autumn Landscaping and Gardens

We’d just finished enjoying a nice lunch over at the Hollywood Tavern and were on our way to a wine tasting appointment in Woodinville’s Hollywood District, when I remembered that Jen hadn’t been to Willows Lodge’s gardens in quite a while.

I pulled over quickly so we could go exploring. We’re careful, I assure you, to not disturb any hotel guests we might come across, nor get in the way of the small army of talented landscapers who work so hard to keep the gardens beautiful.

I need a red tree like this in my front yard! So glorious.

We wandered the path leading from the parking lot to the garden. I saw so many changes since my staycation visit to the hotel just three weeks before!

Jen was so impressed by the stunning color combinations and the fact their dahlias were still blooming this late in the year.

At my recent staycation here at Willows Lodge, my friends and I enjoyed wandering the grounds after our spa treatments (though most of us had to shortly go back to our rooms for a nap!)

If I’d known, while growing up in San Diego, how beautiful autumn leaves were, I might have tried to move up to the Pacific Northwest much sooner than I did!

I don’t have the app for my phone that identifies flowers – anyone know what this striking red flowering plant is? Drop a note in the comments section and let me know.

What a delightful color of mums – autumn’s hearty flower.

I have potted mums on my front porch but they’re sad and wilting, not gorgeous and well-tended like these.

As always, the garden and paths were immaculately tended, neat and tidy.

It’s lovely to see the fall colors on the trees across the way at the former Redhook Brewing facility.

I found myself wondering if any brides were having a fairytale wedding this autumn here at Willows Lodge. (You can learn more about the hotel’s wedding facilities here).

It was so obvious that the landscape designers have put a lot of thought into making sure there’s always something extremely colorful in bloom each week and month of the year in each different season.

This stunning display of chard made me want to go home and cook up a big pot of vegetarian soup!

I imagine the chard is destined for some happy diner’s plate over at Barking Frog or The Herbfarm.

I noticed this picturesque layer of moss that’s grown on the stone tower since my visit early in October!

It was so refreshing, after a rainy morning, to see these cheerful colorful, bright marigolds growing in the garden beds.

We never miss a chance to photograph the giant old tree in front of Willows Lodge.

Jen and I dearly wished we had time to pop into the cozy Fireside Lounge for a drink. But we had a wine tasting appointment, and she had upcoming Mom duties later that afternoon.

Willows Lodge is located at 14580 NE 145th St, Woodinville, WA 98072.
