Checking Out Woodinville’s New Rooster Bakery

On our way to a day of exploration and wine tasting in Woodinville, my friend Serret (from Serretabella Images) and I stopped by the new Rooster Bakery on 140th near Matthews Winery. (It’s in the space that was formerly known as the French Bakery at the Vineyard).

Inside, we met the owner and instantly loved her. She’s quite a character. I asked what her name was for this article, and she declined to give it, “I don’t want to be famous!”

She was understandably concerned about us posting this article while the bakery is still newly open and working out the kinks. I assured her I would warn you guys that not everything here is set up and ready to go. They’d only had a barista on site for the last two days, for example.

So please, if you come out to check out  the bakery, go easy and be gentle with this newly opened business!

The owner says their rooster sign will be out in front of the bakery in a week or two. Meanwhile, there’s a nice rooster plaque hanging on the wall inside.

The bakery is spacious, sun-lit and, thankfully, well air-conditioned. This is a great addition to Woodinville – we’ve so needed a nice bakery and a Starbucks alternative for meeting friends or business associates.

I’m not personally a coffee drinker, so I was delighted to see the large selection of specialty teas available.

The teas sold here are from Portland, Oregon-based company The Tao of Tea.

The teas can be made hot or iced, as you prefer. On such a hot day, I definitely wanted iced tea to help cool me down.

The coffee is sourced from Caffe D’arte in Seattle.

The coffee bar counter is adorned with rooster imagery too. Loved the marble (granite? Marble?) countertops!

Serret opted for an iced coffee, and I ordered an iced tea. No, we didn’t eat all these pastries by ourselves!

There’s a lovely variety of baked goods available, including macarons, croissants, slices of cake, and fancy cookies. The baked goods aren’t made on premises, but are brought in fresh every day from a bakery in Bellevue.

The Raspberry Napoleon tempted me the most, but we were on our way to lunch and on such a hot day, I knew I wouldn’t be able to take this home for later in my scorching car.

I can think of several people who will be excited to hear that this bakery sells Black Forest Cake!

We love the elegant French style antiques that decorate the Rooster Bakery! This place is so charming, and delightful to hang out in. I was tempted to ask if they have wi-fi – perhaps I should be writing some of my articles for this blog at a cozy table here sometime.

As you relax at a table with your drinks and snacks, look around and see all the intriguing, charming antiques tucked here and there around the room.

Serret admired this antique photograph of a couple – we wondered, but forgot to ask, if they were relatives or ancestors of the owners.

Check out the beautiful, spacious outdoor patio here at the Rooster Bakery! On the day we visited it was excruciatingly hot, so those shade umbrellas really came in handy.

You could drink your iced coffee at a noisy, crowded Starbucks, OR, you could support a local business and meet friends on this gorgeous patio for your caffeine fix.

Serret enjoyed exploring the small flower gardens on the property. We wanted to point out that there is PLENTY of parking here. Love that! How convenient.

Serret noticed and pointed out the amazing workmanship, care and attention that’s been put into the outdoor patio and the beautiful landscaping. They’ve clearly spared no expense at creating this gorgeous outdoor space. She said it showed her that the owners really were taking developing this business seriously and obviously are passionate about what they do. In the future, the Rooster Bakery plans to add a wine tasting room as well on the property.

We were curious, but didn’t ask, how much this expensive-looking coffee/espresso machine cost! What an investment they’ve made here!

We highly recommend stopping by The Rooster Bakery on a weekend morning to treat yourself to baked goods, pastries, coffee and tea. We love that there’s plenty of parking, friendly staff, a passionate owner, and a beautiful atmosphere to relax and enjoy yourself in!

The Rooster Bakery is located at 16507 140th Pl NEWoodinville, WA 98072.
