During our mad dash to stop in and say hi at as many Hollywood District tasting rooms here in Woodinville as possible last week, my friend John and I took a few minutes to explore the beautiful landscaping over at the Hollywood Schoolhouse.
The wisteria, blooming near the historic Derby water tower, is simply stunning. If you have a chance to drive by and see it, definitely do!
We lingered a while admiring the wisteria and plotting to plant some in my front yard.
John got a kick out of seeing the old gas pump.
The Alexandria Nicole Cellars tasting room was open, so we peeked in for a minute to say hello to the vivacious Mae Olivia.
Love these pink rhodies – and I see another rhododendron behind them about to burst into bloom as well!
Woodinville (and Seattle in general) are so lovely in May, with rhododendrons blooming everywhere.
John hadn’t realized there was a little stream running through the property, so we paused to enjoy the sound of the water running past.
I wish I knew more about plants – this bush is incredible! What’s it called? Please let us know in the comments section below.
Next time you’re in the Hollywood District with a few minutes, stop by the Hollywood Schoolhouse grounds to see their spring landscaping, eat a meal at Bistro at Hollywood Schoolhouse or perhaps pop into Alexandria Nicole Cellars or one of the tasting rooms across the parking lot!
