Recently Jen and I met up so she could experience the new Heritage Restaurant + Bar in the old Mazatlan space in Woodinville’s Hollywood District. I’d eaten here before with my friend Rebecca, and was glad to be back. The hostess is so welcoming, and you often run into the chef/owner who takes the time to stop by and say hello.
While we waited for our food to arrive, Jen and I explored the restaurant. Their decor is airy, relaxed and casual. We love how simple and clean it feels!
Check out the elegant private dining room, which you can reserve for your small group event.
I’ve never had (or created) an excuse to sit at the bar – I’ll have to be more creative! The bartender is really friendly (and very patient with us for allowing us to snap her photo!)
The wall of wines here is quite impressive! We’re of course delighted to see so many Woodinville wines and Washington wines displayed.
If you’re sitting in the bar, the bottles give off such a beautiful glow in the light from this side!
I love the lake house style pillows and wood tables, but I’m getting older and achier, so I’m glad to see such a comfortable long bench for seating options too.
My boyfriend will be glad to see there are some beer options here too. I’m happy to see a local brew from Sumerian on tap.
I couldn’t resist ordering a glass of non-local Vinho Verde wine – so refreshing! I got hooked on Vinho Verde years ago when discovering it on the wine menu at Purple Cafe.
I ordered the Baby Lettuces salad, eager to try it because I’d enjoyed their Wedge salad so much on my previous visit. I also wanted to try the sweet potato soup. I’m not the world’s biggest sweet potato or squash fan, but I ate every last drop of this soup! Maybe I’m now a convert to the sweet potato club?
Jen ordered a glass of local wine from DeLille Cellars. Don’t you love her frilly Spring floral blouse?
We normally don’t drink wine with lunch when we’re about to go wine tasting, but it was a beautiful day and we couldn’t seem to control ourselves! So we just made sure to hydrate well with water during our meal.
Jen ordered the turkey grilled cheese, and resolutely chose a side of fruit instead of fries like I would have succumbed to doing!
There are other sandwiches, soups and salads on the menu we haven’t gotten to try yet. The menus here are highly seasonal, so we’ll try to stop by frequently so we don’t miss any delicious possibilities!
We were highly intrigued by the Pie in a Jar on the dessert menu (Key lime, at the moment) and highly delighted when it arrived.
Jen kindly got most of the meringue topping out of the way for me (I’m not a meringue fan usually) and we made sure to get every delicious bite scooped out of that cute little jar!
Plan on visiting Heritage Restaurant + Bar next time you are in Woodinville wine tasting, shopping or joining friends for lunch or dinner!
