What Do You Do When Your Party Guests Don’t Like Wine?

You just plain don’t invite them over, right? I joke, but barely!

I’m hosting a Rosé vertical tasting party on Mother’s Day, and sort of worried about my guests who don’t like wine. I’ll have non-alcoholic beverages (iced tea, sparkling water, sodas, fruit juice, pink lemonade) available for the non-drinkers, of course. But the role of a good hostess is to make all her guests feel welcome, comfortable and pampered, so I need to come up with some tasty alternatives for the few ladies who just don’t care for wine. I don’t want them to feel left out during the tasting portion of my soiree!

Welch’s Sparkling Non-Alcoholic Rosé

I can always count on Welch’s to provide a drinkable festive option for non-drinkers at my parties.

I admit I bought, out of sheer curiosity, a six-pack of Angry Orchard’s Rosé-themed hard cider. And finished it over the course of a weekend. It was pretty good, and nice and refreshing. But I probably will stick to the real thing next time.

Curious about all the other Rosé cider incarnations out there? Cosmopolitan rounded up their nine favorites, and Refinery 29 also has some recommendations.

Three Olives Rosé Vodka at ReserveBar

I’ll whip up a small pitcher of Rosé cocktails, and leave my two Rosé vodkas out with mixers so the ladies can concoct their own cocktails as needed.

Check out Bon Appetit’s article on the Hanger 1 Rosé vodka.

I’ll probably only invest in one pricy Rosé vodka – likely the one whose bottle will look prettiest on my cocktail bar, I must admit. Both of these have fabulous bottle designs, so I guess I’ll have to let some Rosé vodka reviews settle the matter.

I’m not mentally prepared for pink gin or pink tequila. I don’t think those are liquors I’d want hanging around my house after the party is over, so I’ll abstain from purchasing any. I bet if you really were in need of Rosé-themed gin or tequila, you might find some (or at least get good recommendations) over at specialty liquor store Proper & Ernest in Woodinville!
