Recently Carrie, my fiancé James, and I met up at the Lauren Ashton Cellars Woodinville tasting room for their Release the Rosé event. We had a fabulous time! The 2017 Rosé is refreshing blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, and Counnoise with notes of strawberry, raspberry and citrus – perfect for Summer. As always, the staff here provided an experience that made us feel warmly welcomed.

It was lovely to see Bill Collins again, and we were grateful to him for posing for this picture with us.

Bill always presents something extra when we taste at Lauren Ashton, and this time we were treated to a mystery pour that incorporated our olfactory senses before our taste buds.

Bill asked us to simply smell these three glasses of red wine, and decide which we preferred.  Later when we tasted, it was interesting to see that what our “noses” liked the best, our palates did as well. These fun, extra touches that Bill adds make the tasting experience so memorable!

James and I enjoyed ourrselves at one on the covered patio tables outside the tasting room.  It was the perfect setting on a mild Spring day, and so beautiful with the Apple trees blooming.

Bill pours us some of the 2012 Cuvee Mirabelle, a smooth blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre with black cherry and licorice notes. This is one of my favorites from the Lauren Ashton lineup.

You should definitely try Lauren Ashton’s 2017 Rosé, it is so delicious! I imagine it will not be around for long so be sure to stop by their tasting room soon and pick up a bottle.

You can find the tasting studio located in the Hollywood District at 14545 148th Ave NE, suite 211 in Woodinville.
