A Fun Friday Night at Vivi Pizzeria

My boyfriend got off work unusually late and was near starving. We decided to head into Woodinville for our Date Night, and we both immediately agreed it had been too long since we’d eaten at Vivi Pizzeria.

We arrived at twilight – I loved the welcoming way the neon signs looked in the rain.

The covered, heated patio shared by Vivi Pizzeria, Patterson Cellars and Gorman Winery was surprisingly full for a rainy, windy night. I saw many tables of people enjoying pizza and wine pours.

We could hear live music being performed at Gorman Winery – they’re open on Friday and Saturday nights until 9pm.

I’m so excited to enjoy using their beautiful outdoor patio again once our summer weather arrives!

I’m sure this patio will be packed full of people on a Friday night once the weather warms up!

We were lucky to get a table at Vivi Pizzeria at 8pm as it was, with just a two minute wait.

The temporary tenting helps keep the heat in so people can enjoy eating “outdoors” on the patio even on a rainy, windy evening like tonight.

Inside, faux candles give a warm glow and make it cozy.

The restaurant has plenty of seating for groups – a cheerful family birthday party was just departing as we arrived.

Bob was super hungry and was delighted when we were given a basket of hot bread and dipping oil. I was glad to see our waitress tonight was Evie again! She’s friendly and attentive and professional.

The local wine selections on the menu here of course include neighboring Gorman and Patterson selections. I was in the mood for another delicious glass of “Blackboard” from Matthews Winery, so I ordered that and didn’t regret it.

I forced myself to try a new salad (I’m addicted to their Insalata Avocado and order it every time). Bob and I shared the Braccio di Ferro, really enjoying the walnuts and Gorgonzola.

I’m trying to eat healthier, so didn’t let myself order a pizza this time. I was hungry for pasta, but most of theirs are not vegetarian friendly. The Penne al Pesto was an option, but I thought cream sauce would be a little indulgent (especially for a lady who just chowed down on so much bread!) So I ordered the Spaghetti Porro, looking forward to the leeks and Roma tomatoes.

Bob ordered the Quattro Carni (four meat) pizza and did his best to not just wolf it down immediately! He ended up taking half of it home, it was so filling, and enjoyed it for lunch the next morning.

By the time we finished our meal, the neighboring tasting rooms had shut down for the evening. Other guests at Vivi Pizzeria were lingering, finishing their meals and savoring their wine and desserts.

I’m excited to bring my vegan stepsister here next week to try their vegan pizza and show her this awesome restaurant and its neighbors!
