Planning Social Events with Claudette Over Lunch at The Commons

I want to introduce you to my friend Claudette, who I met through her social club: Eastside Social Club on Meetup. I joined her club over a year ago and she immediately realized I like hosting movie parties, tea parties, cocktail parties and events. She drafted me into being an assistant organizer, and now we meet up from time to time to brainstorm about event ideas.

Claudette also runs the Lady Riders of Western Washington Meetup group and the Bon Voyage Travel Buddies group on Meetup. She’s a very busy and active lady! I was delighted we could fit each other into our schedules and hang out for an afternoon!

We’d decided to go wine tasting in Woodinville, and knew we should eat something first. I wasn’t sorry that she suggested The Commons!

Claudette opted for comfort food, eager to try their grilled cheese. It comes with scrumptious home fries and their fire roasted tomato soup.

I eat at The Commons at least once per week, but I’d never yet tried their Breakfast Bowl. I’ve tried almost all their other vegetarian options, but was worried this would be too spicy for me (it has peppers, hot sauce, and pico de gallo!) It definitely took me a lot of iced tea to bathe my tongue, but I found this delicious and can’t wait to order it again. I wonder if repeated attempts will make my wimpy tongue toughen up a bit? Maybe next time I’ll try it as a Breakfast Burrito!

After our meal (in which we plotted many fun upcoming events for Eastside Social Club), we headed over to the nearby Brian Carter Cellars for wine tasting!

Did you know The Commons serves breakfast until 3pm?
