On Saturday evening, I took my fiancé James to Lauren Ashton Cellars in Woodinville for their Ashton Troy Wines release event. The house was packed, with live music, small bites and delicious wines for all. We had the chance to meet winemaker Kit Singh, his wife Riinu and Director of Business Development, Kimberly Ellertson, who went out of their way to greet us. We are always impressed with the sense of welcome we feel when visiting here!
This was our only chance to purchase the 2014 Bisou and 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, as these wines are being sold in Seattle and Woodinville restaurants only.
Here you see the 2014 Bisou, which is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot sourced from the Columbia Valley. The bottle of 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon you see above is what I purchased to enjoy at home.
The team at Lauren Ashton was very attentive to us, despite a packed room. We were so glad to have made it out to enjoy our Lauren Ashton favorite 2011 Cuvee Meline, and to try the new Ashton Troy wines. Although we arrived a little bit too late to have met Ashton Troy and get the young man’s (age 8) autograph, the live music was fantastic! You can find live music there every Saturday from 6-8 PM.
What a great evening it was, celebrating Washington Wine Month with wonderful Woodinville wine and great company!
