We love rainy days here in the Pacific Northwest. (We embrace them, because the alternative is to move away!)
Sometimes it’s nice to get out and socialize in the middle of a dark, rainy week though. I like to meet friends (those with flexible work schedules who can make time to meet for lunch) at Hollywood Tavern here in Woodinville.
It’s dark inside, but in a cozy way. Plenty of windows let in the light, even on gray days. This is the perfect restaurant for gloomy cold days, as their motto is “Inspired comfort food.”

For an appetizer, I like to start with their fried pickles. They come with buttermilk and buffalo dipping sauces (Don’t worry, no actual buffalos were harmed in this process!)
You can’t really beat tomato soup for warming you up on a drizzly day! This is their Rustic Tomato Bisque with a Tavern Greens salad on the side.
You can order their Beecher’s Mac and Cheese as an appetizer or as an entree sized meal.
Other comfort foods you might want to order here include Steak Frites, Brick Chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, the Ancho chile tots appetizer, and of course their Hollywood Burger.
Note that they are closed on Mondays.
