Enjoying Post-Wine-Tasting Snacks at Village Wines

After a friend dragged me into Village Wines recently, I felt really dumb for not knowing this was a restaurant! Judging just by the name, I thought it was a wine store. Every time I came to this strip mall (usually to eat at Mazatlan) I avoided going in, worried I would spend too much of my money on wine.

So I’m very grateful that a friend took me here when we got a bit hungry while wine tasting on a sunny weekday recently. Such a nice place to lounge, relax, and enjoy some nibbles. Of course, if you haven’t already been wine tasting that day, they have an enormous wine selection.

Look at this beautiful caprese salad! Just perfectly refreshing after a long hard afternoon of wine tasting here in Woodinville.

You can sit at the bar and be social, or retire to one of their cozy living-room style seating areas.

I had the portobello panini with Greek salad after sharing the caprese salad with my friends.

Here’s a photo from another visit – look at those delectable golden French fries! Our friend indulged in a glass of rose before moving on to a wine tasting elsewhere in Woodinville.

Not all their wines are from Woodinville – this Rosé was from France. So refreshing!

Village Wines uses a French press to make coffee for caffeinating tired wine tasters.

You can purchase a few tempting bottles of wine to add to your home wine library, too.

Village Wines serves lunch, dinner and snacks. They open at 11 am.

I was glad to note they also pour a few beers – my boyfriend just isn’t a wine drinker and was so glad to join me for a meal and a beer after a long hard workday. Village Wines closes at 9pm Sunday through Wednesday and at 10 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday nights.

I love this cozy seating area! I think this is where they put their live music on the weekends.

We’ve always had great experiences with the friendly servers and bartenders here. The owner stops by to ask how our meal is, too.

There’s plenty of seating. I think I’ll spend more than a few rainy day afternoons here having lunch when autumn comes!

Here’s a peek at one of their seasonal selections. They serve flatbreads, platters, salads and sandwiches, soups, and lots of tempting tapas and appetizers for sharing.

Their “Build Your Own” deli sandwiches come in half sizes, with a tasty salad on the side. Just the right potion amount for a quick and filling lunch.

For special occasions or celebrations (or for an everyday lunch, who are we to judge?) you can also choose to order champagne.
